Paper Bag

I think this is the cutest paper bag ever! All it takes is two 12X12 sheets of paper. Great for birthday gifts, baby gifts, card swap.....etc. Now you never have to run to the store last minute to find a gift bag for your presant, simply make your own.

What you will need:

-Two double sided 12X12 sheets of scrapbook paper (Make sure both sheets are matching print)
-Scorer
-Sticky Thumb Tape Runner
-Sticky Thumb Dimensionals
-Matching Ribbon
-Embellishments

Instructions:
1) Score each 12X12 paper at 2” across the top, and 3” on other three sides.2) On both sheets, fold over the top of the paper at your 2” score line.3) Next fold the scored 3” lines to give them their crease. You will fold these towards the inside (the opposite direction of the top 2” score.
4) On one sheet, you will cut out the two bottom squares where the 3” score lines cross each other. On the other sheet you will simply make a cut going up the bottom two sides but stop when you reach the 3” score line going across.5) Using your tape runner, glue the two square open flaps underneath the bottom of the long flap. This is what the inside will look like after the bottom is put together.6) Take the other piece of paper and using your tape runner glue the bottom flap underneath the bottom of the opposite sheet. You should see that the inside and outside bottom of the bag don’t have any seams showing.7) With the side of the bag laying flat (not the one standing up forming the square bag) you will want to glue the bottom half of the side, don’t take the runner all the way to the top or it will stick when you try to tuck in into the top.8) You want to tuck the side that has glue on it underneath the folded down flap of the other piece and tuck it in all the way so it’s flush on the outside.Repeat on the other side. This is what the outside and inside should look like.9) Next you will want to punch two holes in the top on each side for the ribbon handles. Just eyeball the distance. Make sure the ribbon on both side are the same length & tie knots on then ends of ribbon.10) Last step you can accessorize your bag with any embellishments of your choice. I used some die-cut flowers and stuck them on with the Sticky Thumb Dimensionals to give it a fun pop-up appearance. You are finished… Whalaa! Super cute isn't it!

Birthday Calendar

This project is a great idea for a mother's day gift, an end of the school year teacher gift, or just even simply for a friend's birthday. If anyone else is like me and can't remember dates very well, this is a great little cheat sheet. I have so many birthdays I like to keep track of and this booklet makes it so simple and convenient
Step 1: I printed off these monthly calendar sheets from a website I found. I printed them off 4 on a page and trimmed closely around the edges which made each one about 3 1/2 X 5. Step 2: I used a thin piece of white posterboard for my accordian booklet. You will want to cut this into one long strip as long and as wide as you like to fit your calendar print offs. Measure and mark off your sections where you will want to make a fold. You need 6 sections and I folded mine a little bit bigger than my printoffs to show the colored background.Step 3: Choose whatever colored paper you want to have for the background. I chose 6 different colors of paper and kept the same pattern going on the front and the back. I also inked around the edges in brown. Step 4: Using my Sticky Thumb tape runner, I stuck all the colored squares onto my accordian booklet, then put all the calendar printoffs on top of that.Step 5: I stuck on a few buttons with my tape runner for some embellishments on the front and the back. Fold up the booklet and add a piece of stretchy cord or ribbon to tie it together. You could keep it tied together till you need a reminder, or just leave the open booklet out on your desk or counter.Another cute idea to display your birthday calendar list is on a mini clipboard. I modpodged some scrapbook paper onto the clipboard & printed out the birthday lists two per page making them about 5X7 in size. You could display the clipboard on a stand or easel. This will definately help me not have to send out any more of those dreadful "Belated Birthday" cards cause now I'm on on top of it!

Place Sitting Cards

If you are the lucky family member in charge of hosting your Easter brunch get-together, you are in luck! Whether you're looking for some decorating ideas or want to have some order at the kitchen table, these little place sitting cards add the perfect touch to your table top feast. Each person sitting at the table can feel special seeing their name personalized right next to their plate, and it's super fun for the kids to find their seat.Step 1: I cut this cute little bunny out with my cricut using the Create a critter cartridge. Step 2: I made a small card and ran it through my cuttlebug to give it a little texture and then inked around the edges. Step 3: I added some Sticky Thumb dimensionals to make the bunny pop out on the card. Step 4: I cut out the names on my cricut but you could also use stickers. I attached them on the card using my sticky tape runner and added some brads and a little strip of decorative paper. You can change these up any way you like and you could make these to go along with any holiday get-together. Super cute, super easy, and just adds a little extra fun decoration & excitement to the party!

Easter Garland

I thought this simple Easter garland would be a cute little decoration for my family room. Step 1: I cut out 12 easter eggs on my cricut machine using the Doodlecharms cartridge. You could just as easily cut a pattern out to make your own egg. I also went around the edges with my brown inkpad. Step 2: I cut out the letters Happy Easter on my cricut using the All Mixed Up cartridge, or you could use stickers or stamps. Step 3: I punched a small hole in the tops of all the eggs and glued the letters on using my Sticky Thumb tape runner. Step 4: I found this cute fabric at Hobby Lobby and tore some strips about 1 inch thick. Step 5: I used some thin hemp as my strand and i tied my eggs onto the hemp in little knots. Then I tied the fabric strips inbetween each egg. I left a blank egg inbetween the words Happy and Easter. I also added a few extra strips of fabric at the beginning and end of my stand. It looks pretty cute hanging above my family room window.

April: Easter Creature Goody Gifts

Since Easter is just around the corner I thought it would be fun to make some little Easter gifts for friends, neighbors, or even your child's school class. I made a chick, carrot, & bunny. Super simple and easy to make! Step 1: Make a pattern for your cone & trace it out on whatever colored paper you want.Step 2: I ran my Sticky Thumb tape runner along the edge of one side to attach the two ends together forming a cone. Step 3: Add whatever features you want on your creature like wiggly eyes, whiskers, a nose etc. Then punch two holes in the sides and add ribbon. I used a Sticky Thumb Dimensional to make the nose & whiskers pop out. Step 4: Stuff grass inside your cone creature and add some of your favorite goodies on top. You can even add a gift tag if you are giving it as a gift, or you can simply just hang them up in your house for a cute decoration.
